I am regularly appraised by senior colleagues and have yet to receive any negative feedback.

As former Clinical director of the Orthopaedic department at Blackpool Victoria hospital I was required to attend various NHS Trust meetings regarding proposed changes and innovations. It was also imperative to anticipate future work loads and prepare accordingly. In addition, I have taken part in Care Pathways development programmes.

Membership of the AO UK Faculty

Courses and Presentations

To ensure that I remain on the cutting edge of advances in surgical techniques I frequently attend relevant national and international courses. I find them highly beneficial and am confident of being at the forefront of modern developments in Trauma and lower limb Orthopaedics.

Other Interests

I am a Trustee (and former Chairman) of Abaseen Foundation UK, a registered charity which has been involved in improving the healthcare and educational needs of a large community in the north-west of Pakistan.

In 2005, I travelled to the Kohistan Valley in Pakistan during the aftermath of the most devastating earthquake to hit the country. The earthquake took 74,000 lives and left scores more in a life threatening condition. I volunteered my surgical abilities and performed approximately thirty operations over two stints. I dealt with critical injuries which involved multiple fractures and managed any post-injury complications.

I relish any opportunity to pursue the following hobbies: golf, mountain walking, cricket and photography. I am a member of the National Geographic Society, a regular reader of Scientific American and an avid follower of various space programmes.
